Jump pole exercise

This exercise improves King’s straightness while jumping a course. In this video, I noticed that this exercise improved his straightness however, I need to remember to guard the right side with my leg to keep him from diving right. Once I continue riding this exercise, this will become a habit for King to be straighter. If you want to try this exercise you start with two cross rails about 4 to 5 strides apart. In this video, the line is 4 strides. Between the cross rails line the left and right side of the track with poles between the two jumps. Leave about 3 feet for you and your horse to go between the poles. I would start this exercise with trotting in and catering out. Then advance to cantering in and cantering out.
