Ive been working on getting a better bend since I did not
Ive been working on getting a better bend since I did not realize I have been restricting the outside shoulder with an iron grip on my outside thigh! The best advice I heard to get me to free up the shoulder was to “spread the horse like peanut butter” so they drift a bit with that outside shoulder. Unfortunately it took me 45 minutes to realize I need to get the thigh off but hey, its progress! The following pattern is just one of the ways you can work on changing the bend and re-establishing it with a circle if you lose it! This will help a TON with shoulder-fore, shoulder-in, and other lateral work since you’ll 1. Have a supple horse and 2. Get better at controlling your thigh so the horse can freely move their shoulders
