Be very precise, cross the poles exactly in the middle, ride the straight line after that, then - bend the horse around Your inner leg and ride a half of circle. Do the same in the other direction, completing figure 8. First - try in walk, then in trot. You could ride flying changes over the poles in canter with advanced horses. This is great for dressage and for jumping, too.
