Foal Desensitizing

I'm interested in your experiences or advice about foal desensitizing. I've worked with several “troubled” horses before, but the world of foals is still somewhat new to me. I've read numerous articles, watched videos, and luckily, I have personal assistance nearby. However, I'm curious about your experiences, opinions, and what you think is most important when it comes to introducing a foal in early stages.🤍

The best thing I’ve found after helping handle seven foals this year, try and just go and sit with them and let them be curious. Be slow with your movements, and don’t force anything. Build trust with them with scratches and food before you do anything with a halter. Then once you have them halter broke, I’ve learnt the most important things are just teaching them to pick up all four hooves and to have respect for your space/learning to lead.
