One thing i still do as a rider, maybe because I am crazy. I still do Rising trot without stirrups as a fitness thing. My goal is always to do one lap around my arena. Some days it feels like my soul is leaving my body.....lol I find this has a been extremely beneficial

Bareback

3 to 5 strides you swore you may never walk right again.

Can make 1/4 lap around arena

1/2 lap around arena

Full lap around arena

I am the a super human, I can post the rising trot without stirrups forever and never feel pain.

Ohhh my old trainer used to make us go trotting w/o stirrups for 5mins and if you "cheat" you get an extra minute or more! It really feels like your soul if about to leave your body but it's worth it!
