Pads under your polos or not?

With the interest in polos rising due to matchy-matchy, do those who use polo wraps still use pads under them? Why or why not? We were always taught to pad under your wrap, for a number of reasons; prevention of over-tensioning, buffer of heat (polos are typically synthetic and don’t allow heat regulation, so can increase tendon injuries) to name a couple, however it seems they’re commonly overlooked? Or is that how it appears just from photos

In my opinion it depends on the material of the polo! If there is an elastic or half elastic polo i find it necessary to have a pad under the polo, but if its only made out of fleece i dont find them very stretchy and therefore dont need the pad! That is probably the most common way to reason about it in Sweden but surely different somewhere else!
