Bit or Bitless?

What do you guys prefer. To ride with a bit or without? Do you believe you should be able to ride a horse without a bit before you use one?

Always when I can, I ride bitless. I ain’t that good rider, so I dont feel bad if I make a mistake with the reins 🙈. Sometimes use a bit - if the horse ”needs” it, or I just dont feel that safe. Really depends
