Plaiting like Alan Davies

Plaiting horses takes a lot of practice to get looking perfect for competitions. Each horse has a different type of mane and neck meaning the plaiting style for each horse will be slightly different.In this video, International travelling groom Alan Davies explains how and why plaits might vary between horses. Alan shows you two of Charlotte Dujardin’s top horses Mount St John Freestyle and Imhotep and explains how he would plait them differently. Alan then demonstrates how he plaits Imhotep, showing you his method that you can practice on your own horse at home!
