What are they called and what do they do?
Hi everyone! My start in the equestrian world was not ideal as I started with what you call a “backyard trainer” and she really only taught me how to stay on. I missed out on the type of equine education you get in wonderful programs like pony club learning about horse anatomy, equipment names and uses, and the math behind strides and making courses. Over the years I’ve been trying to gain that knowledge I missed and it’s a slow process but I’m getting there. The other day I had a new rider ask me about these things on a set of reins she bought. What are they called? And what is their purpose?
