One if my moms friends recommended we get a thorowgood for my brand new thoroughbred. My mom isn’t really open to anything else but i really dont like the look of them. I dont like that they are mostly synthetic. If were gonna spend up to 1000 dollars on this saddle i would rather just get a collegiate eventing saddle that also has an adjustable tree. Does anyone know how thorowgoods ride? If they’re better than i think they are? Anything? Im tweakin guys. Thorowgood vs HDR or collegiate?

@Evelyn well then you should be fine . My very first saddle was a aussie saddle loved that thing wish I never sold it. My next saddle was a 50 dollar close out place made them and was going out of business . That saddle I still have .. fits my horse like a glove ! Buy it wasn't a quality saddle she needed to be reflolcked I can't manage to get rid of her. Bottom line is finding something that fits !!! That the biggest thing. Later on you can worry about a higher end saddle I got lucky finding both my stubbens my heart wants a new Voltaire so I understand

@TinaM Thank you! I really like the stubben zara and it fits my horse pretty well but its just too expensive for me :( even used. I think what im going to end up doing is saving up for a stubben zara while riding in the thorowgood dressage saddle. I decided this because I really dont ride dressage that much so i wanted to get a quality jump saddle after getting the dressage saddle. Good thing im planning on just doing flatwork and groundpoles until end if this yearb
