Hello! I ride my boy in tendon and overreach boots (he really needs these) but I have always wondered about brushing boots and polos. What is your preference?

I wouldn‘t really recommend polos. Yes, they support the tendon well if placed properly, but personally I fond that they overheat the horses legs which can in turn cause tendon issues. In addition, they dont really seem to protect the leg all that much, but all of this is just my personal experience.

My one adopted horse had windpuffs I imagine he got his legs injured wherever he came from. With him I use brushing boots anytime we go anywhere just because he needs the support and a slight warm up on his lower legs and help protect his clumsy self 360 down there while learning to jump once he get more proficient I will switch him to open boots. I use the cheaper plastic types with the velcro straps for that . For more formal events we switch up to the leather versions
