My Friesian is very smart which leads to being stubborn. He is weak on the left and I am curious what are good building exercises. My trainer tends to only like circles and he seems to fall out/in the more bored he gets

Cavaletti exercises are excellent for building strength, and are a great way to keep things interesting for the horse. My trainer had me set up 4 or 5 poles along half of a circle, to help build strength on my horses weak side, but there are so many excellent pole combinations and set ups to play with.
