Do you remember, how much you’ve spent when you were taking home a new horse? I am talking everything new: tack (including saddle), vitamins, stable accessories, first aid kit, brushes, etc. I am getting over the 6k limit and I didnt even buy the rugs yet 🫣

Well, I have all the basic stuff for one horse, so then all I needed to get for my second was new saddle ($3300), bridle ($250), bit ($125), and winter rugs ($300). But, yes, in general very expensive. I do recommend using local consignment stores, Facebook marketplace, and eBay to save some money on gear! I buy a lot of things that way and also frequently sell as I like to try out new styles of stuff. If I had to start from scratch with ointments, medicine, crossties, buckets, water heaters, etc... I would probably be around 5/6k as well.
