Hello! my daughter has been working on the ground with this great pony that's in the picture bellow. She has been doing lots of flat work, sometimes trot poles, etc. and now her pony is ready to start jumping little by little. So my question is if anyone has tips for getting started to jump a pony on the lunge or in hand? Also, please note that this picture is a few months old when the pony was in a worse shape :)

From that photo, the pony looks rather chunky and very heavy on the forehand. Balance also does not appear to be good based on how much the pony is leaning in on the circle. I would not jump this pony until it can engage its hindquarters appropriately instead of trailing them behind and balance is much improved. Riding a horse like this will be fine over the fence until the landing, where you need a lot of experience to keep them up. I understand this is an old photo, but hopefully these are still helpful notes for whatever form the pony may be in now :)
